Event: Hoboken Pump and Run. Not to be confused with the Pump and Dump.
This event benefits the Wounded Warrior Project and consists of max repetitions of 135 pounds followed by a 5k run. Most importantly a local tavern will be supplying free beer for all participants upon conclusion of the race. If you are interested in participating or donating to this great charity please follow the link below. The event is scheduled for Saturday 8/21/2010.

Crossfit 5 mile: Its actually slight over 5 miles, includes avoiding cars at the cross streets (or waiting for the walk sign – lame), the uphill climb to central park, and barreling over kids walking to school.

Great job to the morning crew – or at least the few who made it out.
Defs a tough WOD post cindy on steroids – especially with the heat index.
Jimmy, I am in for that event… sounds very fun
Looking forward to a good run later tonight, I needed to sleep in this morning
Good WOD to use your Benchmarking Worksheet for..5 miles = pretty straight forward benchmark
Question: Do any of you know of/can recommend a good small business accountant, and small biz lawyer? If so can you email me por favor. Gracias.
Jinxed myself last night. That was pathetic. Something north of 48 minutes.
Jimmy, thanks for the link to that event, looks awesome. I may ask to do 225lb bench though…..135 just sounds too easy, haha.
51-ish minutes.
Dang it, finally a WOD i can actually do as rx’d and i have to miss it. Son of a. See you kids tomorrow morning.
E, I know some peeps in the small business community so I’ll see what i can find out for you.
i suggest drinking gallons of water. The run knocked me on my as$.
Anyone doing it tonight at either 7 or 8?

Fight Gone Bad is essentially the granddaddy of CrossFit fundraisers. Generally speaking I think there are too many Fundraisers out there (everybody has their pet project) but this is one probably worth doing. Proceeds benefit the Wounded Warrior Project (same as the Hoboken one Jimmy posted above), LiveStrong, and the CrossFit Foundation (wounded military). Give me the nod folks and I will put CF Metropolis firmly behind the effort.

There are many fundraisers out there. I’m not advocating one over another, just forwarding info.
Frankly, I’m not a fan of the bench press.
Volleyball tonight. See you in the am.
Jimmy, I will be out of town that weekend but what a great cause to get behind.
E, I am in for some FGB! Eventhough it has SDHP’s…
definitely would be in for any and all fundraisers.
44 min. I really wilted in the heat at 530 session. Wanted to do better but failed.
It got warm out there in the sun. 40:10
Too much f’ing traffic at 5:30!
40:46
Ha…yes the traffic is an added unknown variable…next time we’ll do laps in the gym…let’s see 100′ a lap..times a bunch of laps.
36:20
practice for the pump and run
41:36 – luckily was able to pace behind a pretty fast runner for most of the second lap – I think it really helped my time. Probably won’t make it tomorrow…have to make an offering to the PPT Presentation Gods…
48-49ish minutes and the pleasure of having boosters along the way (thanks Maddy).
