Throwdown WOD #1:
To Be Announced in the Morning!
I’ll give you a hint – The Beauty is in the Simplicity!
__________
Don’t forget to wear your team Colors:
Team 1 – BLACK Ninjas
Team 2 – RED Sex Panthers
Team 3 – GREEN Weiners
Team 4 – BLUE Balls
(Even my Mom is wearing Red Sequins on her face, so be free to get Creative and show your team spirit! Not sure about how I feel about her being a “Red Sex Panther” though. hah!!)
** Classes will run close to normal. We’ll do our standard Warm-Up and Skill of the Week.
** The Workout will be done Competition Style. Everyone will be judged by a member of an opposing team to ensure consistent standards.
** At the end of the workout, everyone’s scores will be submitted on the Board AND on their team roster.
__________
After the Throwdown Workout, we will have a BONUS ROUND! A chance for teams to earn a few extra points to their team score!
__________
Team Participation counts! You’ll help your team by just showing up. You want your team mates to come so make sure to text, call and knock on doors to make sure your sleepyhead friends wake up and get to the gym!
__________
EJ and I will be selling CFM Gear before and after classes. It’s the perfect day to celebrate your team & GYM spirit! So if you’re interested, you can grab either one of us!
__________
We’d like to remind everyone that this is a FRIENDLY event! We know that you’ll all keep it FUN and encouraging! You can still participate and get your workout in even if you don’t want to wear your team colors. In the end, it’s all about Working Hard in Great Company!!
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

yay for occasional community events!
Made it back in town earlier than expected. Too late to join a team??
*** Sunday Endurance WOD***
CFMers looking to improve their 5K/half marathon/marathon times, looking to not suck wind doing 400′s around the block, or just looking to get their CrossFit on outdoors, come join Eroc and Gym Belle tomorrow at 9am for a mystery WOD. (oooo) We will meet at 9am at 86th and Lex (in front of NYSC). You’ll be back in time for open gym.
If you have a garmin/stop watch/time-keeping app on your smartphone, please bring that. Towels and water are also a good idea.
RSVPs appreciated but not mandatory. If we cancel for weather-related reasons, we’ll post on the blog by 8:30am, so be sure to check the comments tomorrow if it looks iffy.
Gym Belle & Eroc
@ben
Blue team! Wear blue
I just caught up on the drama from yesterday.
People, wieners are also dogs! Let’s keep it family style.
Looking forward to donning the Team Weiner tee Mikey made for our marathon team many years ago.
Lastly, anyone interested in brunch or daytime drinking post WODs, let’s head to AVB at 97th and Lex. They get a bit crowded, but it’s close and yummy. Second option will be Chuckee Cheese with Rolf.
Oh, I forgot. GO GREEN!

I’m a big fan of doing these team competitions more often. Sooo much fun and it changes things up
Thank you EJ, Allison, Brendan and anyone else who helped organize this.
@Marilina…you are the BEST captain ever….GO GREEN WEINERS!!!!
100 burpees. I sandbagged the row. If you get 101 in this you are in way better shape than me. I doubt anyone without knuckle tattoos will get this. Prove me wrong!
I agree with Tommy that this was an absolute blast. I could do this every Saturday.
We’re bad ‘n’ mean, the Green Machine
We hit ‘em hard, so they see Green
We’re big ‘n’ strong, we’re fast ‘n’ mean
That’s why we’re called the Green Machine
Don’t want no red, don’t want no blue
Don’t want no white, or orange too
There’s just one color, that’ll do
The fighting green of the Green Machine
80 burpees! It was a big lift having airborne Amy right next to me for the burpees. Really felt good by the end of round 2…. Always slow out of the gate. Nice job Weiner Nation!
Thanks to EJ & the Sunshine Band for putting this together!
So much fun! Great job BLUE!
60 burps
Pace the row and destroy the burpees. Go Black!!
That was just fun as shit!!! Great job Blue and everyone. Only sport that you are cheering for your competition. Nice Job Alex Snape from Red team.
Shoulder held up…very hoppy! 74 Burpees!
Looking forward to the next throwdown!

800m run

I know people like to say how going elsewhere makes our gym look shithot, and I think we do a slightly better job of talking through the WOD beforehand in this 1 example, but there are some serious badasses here. Great space, great people. Even a skull kettlebell.
80 even. I had SUCH A GREAT TIME. Thank you CFM familia.
Home to shower real quick, and then to brunch (read: beers).
Hats off to Marilina, our fearless wiener leader!!!
One love,
Skinny
I burpee’d like a sex panther – 73 burpees. I thought today was pretty awesome.
65.
Sorry blue team. ‘Randy’ last night not a good idea. Exhausted, and upper body torched. Will have a better showing next time.
But, really fun time. I love competition wods. Glad we are doing this.
Go Blue! (i love that i get to say that!) GMEN!
92 burps
I actually liked the damper on 10

Yeaaah, team weiners!
This was outstanding fun and it was awesome to meet so many of ya all!
Thanks so much for the motivation!
45! Took me 50 mins to do 100 burpees a few weeks ago, so that’s pretty exciting! And day drinking is a pretty awesome reward.
This was my favorite day ever at CFM! Thank you to every person who had a hand in making this day so awesome. This was the bright spot of an otherwise very tough week! Photos soon!
50 burpees.
Blue team. Way to show up. We had great turnout and solid performances. Can’t wait to see the team pick… Don’t want to jump the gun but I’m thinking this yrs Christmas card. Cool Amy?
80. Props to all the 80+ folks.
Allison. I bought a shirt. Now jump around. Jump! Jump!

super fun morning!!

I don’t care which team wins (I do, but I don’t) that was SUPER FUN! I loved the increased energy as the hours went by. I loved how people from 8:30 and 9:30 went to brunch and then came back to keep cheering people. I love screaming at people I just met and aren’t on my team. Great to meet people whose names I’ve been reading on the blog. Haven’t seen that kind of energy at the gym in a long time.
Brunch with fellow crossfitters and a couple of glasses of wine was good too.
Let’s do it again.
That was some old school Metrop energy in there today. Was super fun to see everyone, even the shit talking am crew.
75 (could have had my goal of 80 but had to reset the rower….Barefoot Bandit was too busy cheering I guess)
Thanks EJ, B, A for organizing! Allison could have been a used car dealer in another life. The sweatshirt is soft though.
Today was my favorite day at CFM
80 Burpees
2 Bloody Marys
1 mani pedi and
some QT with Mangela…..priceless!
Kind of think Vikram should get his own set of extra bonus points for getting all the names in the huge 10:30 wod.
Wod #2: Christine
15:15? The clock wasn’t working at the start. It’s been, what, 3 months since we did box jumps? It felt like it.
Thank you EJ &A for staying late.
Paleo Christine: 15:01 rx’d, deads @ 180#
total shit show
also thanks to EJ, Allison, Bboy & all others who made today and every day happen. Fun times
whoops! wishful thinking, should’ve been 18;01
Blue balls!! That’s the happiest I’ve been to have them!
80 burpees. Came out of the gate on fire but then it caught up to me fast. I loved this competition style. Would get up early every Saturday to do it.
Working today. Sad to miss the good energy (can’t say I
Sad to have missed rowing, though!).

Sad to have missed this, but Kim and I had a great time learning to row (in a boat on the water) today
Congrats to everyone who showed up, worked hard, and supported their teams (Go Team 1)! Hope to make it to the next throwdown.

What an amazing showing today! Awesome job by everyone who came by. Special shout out to Shane who’s taking the day off to prepare for a race tomorrow but came to support his team.
A big thank you to everyone who helped put this together
super ecstatic and proud of the community we have
What a fun time! The vibe was great.
56 burpees.
That was fun. I think it cured my cold! But how I missed daytime drinking at ABV I have no idea. I need to pay closer attention to the blog!!!
Awesome day!
A paltry 47 reps, but was super fun counting for people and cheering people on.
Melanie is a super awesome judge/counter.
I have an idea….we do CFM throwdowns once a quarter and keep the same teams!
TEAM BLACK WAS AWESOME!
100 Burpees, 2nd in Sprint (lost to the smash)
1) Sorry for not clearing the rowing machine Sandy, you’re right I was totally to busy cheering
2) Sorry Black Team for fouling against Sandy on the read team
3) You’re welcome Red Team
4) Silver medal sucks, but I’d rather Ariel break my pride in a foot race than my arm in an MMA match
