HYDRATE. Yoga tomorrow…!
That was AWESOME. It was not long ago that I looked at OLY lifting with dread. Now, I absolutely love it.
I cannot thank you enough Allison & Brendan.
Metcon: I had one foot at tomorrow’s yoga class and the other foot on a banana peal. 3 rounds and the run. Yes, I dogged it.
The 6 a.m. crew has found the ultimate complement to our training regimen Hot Yoga Wednesdays.

The practice of snatches was fantastic. I think I am finally getting the hip power.

@Nutritionistas: Interesting article on inflammation, maybe a little controversial for paleo peeps:
Warmup 3×15 BEs, ASs and SUs
20 min bike – 221 cals. Almost hurled. Felt nice.

4 + Run
Does anyone have the famous Dr Mike’s contact details (the ART doc)? If so, can you please post on the blog. I’m dealing with a recurring hip issue (apparently due to deep, heavy squatting) but I have no intention of giving it up so I need to see someone who can help.
I’m almost healed so might join the hot yoga class tomorrow before restarting CF. Looking forward to seeing the gang,
Here’s his website:
You’ll be in excellent hands!
Also – just FYI, we have a doctor referral list, which can be accessed in “News/Events”
excellent snatch practice this a.m. – Thanks Allison!
sorry – realize I’ve been a slacker posting lately.
EJ – thanks very much!
Hit the pinetum. 5 rounds for time, 15 toes to bar, 25 push ups, run the great lawn loop. iPhone clock fucked up so my time is unknown. Weird looks from everyone around.
What’s with all the jogging Shoulders?
NYC marathon in November, Phillipe. Also, having no job, I need to fill my time with something.
Kabir et alia! Please do try to come to yoga. FYI – we were at or near a full class last time, so please try to book ahead. Big Mike posted the number up top. Below is the link:
20 min amrap
5 pull ups
5 wall balls
Hamptons wk is great, love you all, miss maybe 6 of you – keep it real, you dont miss me.
Felt sluggish because of vacation and empahasis on strength cycle
They thought i had good form, obviously dont uphold the metropolis standard!
it’s official: i have the worst snatch in the gym.
METCON: 5 even
Dale – why has the strength cycle made you feel sluggish?
I felt good with the snatch variation.
Metcon: 4 rounds
Still in the awkward teenager phase with the snatch.
Metcon: 3rds + run
Had to hold my breath on the burpees, otherwise it was a lungful of nasty sidewalk smells. Vomit-licious.
Great snatch practice.
Metcon: 4 rounds flat
Time for another listing of why I’m in a great mood. In reverse order of “awesomeness”;
- On top of Phillipe, I acquired another alter-ego: ‘Sam’
- I was complimented on my snatch
- It’s my 1 year anniversary today
Bonus points: unveiling of the v-neck on Friday before nipping over to Bermuda
Grat technique training today.
AMRAP: 4 rounds
an entire round better than last time.
Great snatch session
3 rounds plus hill sprint, which is better than the last time by 8 burpees and a hill sprint! Nicola, between your post and your email, you’re my new favorite person
2 + R
metcon-4 rounds+2/3 sprint
3 rounds + 2 burpees
WOD 4+R (First Time)
SAM! Congratulations on your 1 year anniversary! Your hard work since you’ve started has obviously paid off… your snatch was FABULOUS…. and you know I only say things like that if they’re very true. Keep rockin’!
But seriously, I have he worst memory.. Phillip is one of my favorite guy names. One of my first crushes was named Phillip! But Sam is pretty cool, too
3 rds plus half the run
Olympic lifts are nothing short of what I expected – BIG technical hurdle
calve felt good – let’s see how it holds up on the 400s
I love snatches.
4 rounds plus a couple of burpees (no fifth run). Finished 10 with 15 secs left so I kept doing them instead of running.
Yay to Helen (not Fat) tomorrow.
3 +8 Burpees
